Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Crime with Violence Unit (Jatanras) of the Banjarmasin City Police's Crime Detective Unit (satreskrim) arrested five perpetrators of Telkom cable theft.


"The five perpetrators have been caught thanks to reports from the Telkom branch of Banjarmasin," said Head of Satreskrim Adj Comr (AKP) Ade Papa Rihi Sik here, Tuesday.

The theft took place on June 19, 2017 at around 07.30 at Jalan Belitung Darat Gang Bina Marga, West Banjarmasin.

"The perpetrators were stealing air cable belonging to Telkom and their actions could be said often," said officer who graduated from Police Academy in 2006.

He said the uncover of the case was due to the investigation by Jatanras who quickly gained the identity of the perpetrators.

On Wednesday (5/7) night, at around 22:00, five perpetrators of the theft were arrested in their respective homes.

Police also secured evidence of their crimes, including two large rolls of Telkom cable, one hacksaw, and two vests owned by Telkom.

From the results of the examination, the were known with initials MS (46), NC (26), MK (26) and RD (23). They were residents of Jalan Pangeran, while RZ (26) resident of Jalan Kuin Utara, North Banjarmasin.

Currently the five perpetrators have been upgraded to suspects and the case is still being explored.

"We are deepening their motive in doing the theft and do not close the possibility of suspects will increase," he said.
