Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Bank Indonesia (BI) is preparing Rp2,515 trillion for new money changers for the people of South Kalimantan in Lebaran (Eid) 2017 season.

"The new money exchange for the needs of the society during Ramadhan and Lebaran have been started on June 12 at the counter office of Bank Indonesia Jalan Lambung Mangkurat and city hall yardfor round cash," said Deputy Head of BI South Kalimantan Mochamad Irwan here, Tuesday.

He said the joint cash (Kaliber) which involves 14 commercial banks are open until June 22, 2017 with money exchange package Rp3, 7 million (Rp20 thousand denominations worth Rp2 million, Rp10 thousand valued Rp1 million, Rp5 thousand worth Rp500 thousand, and Rp2,000 denominations worth Rp200 thousand).

On Tuesday (13/6), kaliber will be held at the yard of Grand Mosque of Sabilal Muhtadin starting at 09.00-12.00, on 14 June at city hall yard at 13.00-16.00, 15 June at Sudimampir Market from 09:00 to 12:00, and 16 June at city hall yard from 13.00 to 16.00.

Furthermore, June 19th at Murjani Field Banjarbaru at 09.00-12.00, then June 20 at Martapura Market at 09.00-12.00, June 21 at the yard of Sabilal Muhtadi 09.00-12.00, and last June 22 at Banjarmasin city hall at 13.00-16.00.

While the exchange of money at the BI is opened every Monday to Thursday from 09.00 to 12.00.

"People do not have to worry about not getting new money, Bank Indonesia is preparing a total stock of Rp4.8 trillion this year, if Rp2.5 trillion is up," said Mochamad Irwan again.

Mayor Ibnu Sina asserted, his government prohibits money exchange services along roadside that usually rampant ahead of Eid.

"I have ordered Satpol PP to curb it, because it often disturbs the order in the street, the exchange of money with the added value given in the Islamic Shari'ah law is riba alias haram," he said again.
