Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan 10/6 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Livestock subsector raises the farmer's exchange rate (NTP) in South Kalimantan by 0.85 percent in May 2017 due to the rising price index of all livestock commodities in the province.

Head of South Kalimantan Central Statistic Agency Diah Utami in Banjarbaru on Saturday said the increase was due to the index received by farmers (lt) up 0.94 percent and the index paid (lb) up 0.09 percent.

"The increase in lt is due to the rise in the price index of all livestock commodities, while the increase in lb due to the rise in household consumption group price index," she said.

She mentioned, the price index of large livestock rose 0.25 percent, small livestock rose 0.04 percent, while poultry and livestock products rose 0.99 percent and 1.59 percent.

Meanwhile, household consumption group price index rose 0.15 percent and group of production cost and capital goods increase (BPPBM) rose 0.01 percent.

Another subsector was the fisheries rose by 0.81 percent, as the index of the catching fishery group increased by an average 1.39 percent even though fish farming fell 0.25 percent.

The increase in the fisheries subsector was triggered by the fishing group (NTN), which rose 1.24 percent due to a 1.80 percent increase in sea catch and a 0.19 percent increase in households.

Another trigger is the fish farming group (NTPi) which fell 0.44 percent, due to the decrease of the freshwater cultivation group and the rise of household groups and BPPBM.

Meanwhile, Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) in South Kalimantan in May 2017 was 96.67 or decreased by 0.06 percent if compared to exchange rate of 96.73 in April.
