Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 28/5 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Mayor Ibnu Sina set a number of dishes and cakes as typical culinary for iftar in Ramadan 1438 Hijriyah. They can be found in a yearly Ramadan Cake Fair at river embankment infront of Banjarmasin City Hall.


According to Ibnu Sina, the typical culinary of the thousand river city (Banjarmasin) are bingka cake, kararaban cake, nasuban cake, ipau cake, soto Banjar and saluang fish.

"These cakes and cuisines are typical of our city can be found at Ramadan Cake Fair every year held by the Government of Banjarmasin," he said on Sunday in Banjarmasin.

The largest Ramadan Cake Fair in the provincial capital was officially opened by South Kalimantan Governor H Sahbirin Noor on Saturday (27/5). A total of 160 stalls are available for visitors to hunt menu for iftar, either dishes, wadai (cakes) and various types of beverages.

Said Ibnu Sina, wadai market is part of the Ramadan festivities in this city that has existed since the 1980's. The activity continues to be preserved by the city government in cooperation with traders.

He hopes people can support the existence of this Ramadan market, because the continuity depends on the economic circulation that can be festive.

"I also ask the culinary traders not to put highprice, they must be affordable, so people love to shop there," he said.

Head of Culture and Tourism Agency Ikhsan Alhaq said Ramadan Cake Fair this year is different. It is made more creative. In addition to better decoration, it provides "getek" or boat transportation for visitors to cross the Martapura River.
