Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Detention House Class IIB Rantau in Tapin District opened pesantren or Islamic school for prisoners.


The name is Pesantren Al-Hidayah and was inaugurated by Tapin regent represented by Head of People's Welfare Agency H Harliansyah, Friday (19/5).

Head of the prison M Najib said the Al-Hidayah aims to comprehend religious teachings to the inmates in the prison he leads.

"This is in accordance with the religus Tapin's slogan, so we want the inmates to get religious education during in the Rutan Prison," he said.

In addition, with the religious education in prison, the prison head hoped the inmates can be a better man again when returning to the community.

"We want these inmates when leaving they continue to study and understand more about Islamic law," Najib said.

He explained that the teaching is conducted four times a week. The educators brought directly from MUI (Indonesian Council of Ulemas) Tapin and the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

"For teacher salary is from MUI through Tapin Regency grant fund," he explained.
