Rantau, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Tapin District Government will build a new road as an effort to increase the infrastructure and development in the town whose nickname "Serambi Madinah" (Veranda of Medina).

Tapin Regent HM Arifin Arphan said the construction of new road in Tapin is indeed necessary because of the increasing traffic flow in the district which covers an area of 2,700 square kilometers.

"We plan to build a 42 km new road from Parandakan Village, Lokpaikat Sub-district, to Tungkap Village, Binuang," said the regent, Friday (5/5).

In an effort to succeed the plan, explained Arifin, his government has been coordinating with the parties and figures in Tapin.

"After we discuss with certain parties and figures, we conclude that the finances owned by the region can not build the road completely, because the road construction requires about Rp450 billion," he said.

Tapin government plans to free land affected by road construction with it owned funds. As for the construction of roads, it will invite third parties.

"We will release the land, and for the construction of road we will invite companies in Tapin through CSR funds," he explained.
