Kotabaru, South Kalimantan 29/4 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) volunteers must be ready for humanitarian activities in case of disaster in the earth of Saijaan (Kotabaru).


The Regent was represented by Assistant for the Economy and Welfare Joni Anwar in the opening of PMI Kotabaru 2017 conference on Saturday, said the organization has a very heavy duty and function.

Especially in the rainy season and the impact of "Iggy tropical cyclone" or a circular wind whirl. Floods, landslides, forest fires, houses fires and hurricanes are a constant threat.

Such as flash flood in the Trans Kalimantan route, Sengayam Sub-district, which recently occurred, and other natural disasters, such as landslides.

"In the face of disasters like this, PMI must always be ready and alert, therefore it need volunteers who are willing and ready to fight for humanitarian tasks," he said.

Membership preparedness and sincerity must be balanced with a solid organization. One of which the PMI should have a program that accommodate the aspirations of each field of management, based on priority scale of course.

"In relation to this matter, I would like to express my gratitude and appreciation to the Kotabaru's PMI, who have volunteers are ready and willing to fight, whenever and wherever, to carry out humanitarian tasks," he said.
