400 police personnels to secure Labor Day

Banjarmasin, South  Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin City Police deployed 400 personnel to secure a rally on the anniversary of the International Day of Labor (May Day) on Monday (1/5).

Banjarmasin Chief Police Kombes (Senior Commissioner) Anjar Wicaksana here on Saturday told there are about five mass organizations will go on rally in several locations.

Among them are in the neighborhood of Great Mosque of Sabilal Muhtadin Jalan Jenderal Sudirman and front of Banjarmasin City Hall at Jalan RE Martadinata.

On Monday at 07.30, members in charge of security will follow the morning ceremony at Banjarmasin Police headquarters. Furthermore, they will spread at the points of mass action as well as a number of vital objects.

In addition to city police, he said, the Directorate of Sabhara South Kalimantan Regional Police and soldiers from the city's military command (Kodim 1007 Banjarmasin) also alerted.

In accordance with the rules of the demonstration, the time of action delimits till 18.00. If it passes the time limit, officers are entitled to forcibly dissolve.

Chief police appealed to the people who hold the action to be order and obey all the rules.

"We hope the action is peaceful and does not hurt the spirit of activist friends who defend the interests of the workers to improve their welfare," he said.
