Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan - Special team formed by South Kalimantan Regional Police (Polda) to hunt four escaped detainees captured them simultaneously in less than 24 hours.


"Alhamdulilah all detainees were captured in a short time and this is thanks to the hard work of members in the field as well as information from the community," said Director of Criminal Investigation of Polda Senior Commissioner (Kombes) Sofyan Hidayat in Banjarmasin on Thursday.

He said, in just one day the joint team of the Directorate of Drug Investigation and Mobile Detectives (Resmob) of South Kalimantan Regional Police, and assisted by detective police of Banjarmasin and Barito Kuala, managed to capture the detainees.

The drug cases detainees were arrested at a house in Alamanda 6 Complex, Handil Bakti, Barito Kuala District, on Thursday afternoon at around 13.00 pm.

On the order of South Kalimantan Deputy Police Chief (Wakapolda) Senior Commissioner Ade Rahmat Suhendi, the four detainees were immediately taken to his room after arrived at the police headquarters.

Wakapolda seemed so furious that he wanted to meet face to face to the four detainees who have made the ranks of the police uproar ahead of the important moment that Police Chief Brigadier General Erwin Triwanto to handover his post to his successor Brigadier General Rachmat Mulyana, Friday (28/4).

Senior Commissioner Sofyan Hidayat ensured some parties helped detainees escaped from detention center in Directorate of Prison and Evidence (Dit Tahti) building on Jalan DI Panjaitan Banjarmasin.

"We still deepen on how the perpetrators can run away. What certain is there must be family smuggling hacksaws to one escaped prisoner," said Sofyan Hidayat.
