Rantau, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The decline in rubber prices has made Regent HM Arifin Arpan concerned about the condition of rubber farmers in Tapin.

In his Friday safari  (21/4) in Ruminti Village, South Tapin, regent reminded that people who work as rubber farmers to take advantage of opportunities and use their land to be more productive.

"With the rubber price back to cheap, rubber farmers should try other luck, such as farming onion, chili, and other horticultural crops," he said.

Besides being easier, vegetables and horticulture crops are also quciker to be harvested and can be used for sale.

"If we grow our own chili, tomatoes, and other vegetables we can use it ourselves, thus cutting expenses in the household because we do not need to buy," said the regent.

He said, in addition to cut spending in the household, the garden of our own is certainly more delicious, more satisfying, and more healthy.
