Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 20/1 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Mayor Ibnu Sina declared Banjarmasin will adopt the concept of Cambodia in reviving Small Business and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

"In Cambodia MSME are very alive. We should take it concept as our example of how can they do that," said Ibnu Sina at City Hall, Friday.

Ibn Sina, who had just paid a visit to the State of Cambodia, said SMEs such as handicraft and souvenirs extraordinary flourish there, while the government is very facilitating.

According to him, the city government who begin to inflame SMEs as the main driver of the regional economy will try to make as in Cambodia. This is related to a commitment to produce 2,500 new entrepreneurs during his leadership.

Related to the city government's policy to relocate street vendors (PKL) from Jalan A Yani to the Baiman culinary center on the Inner Ring Road, he said, could apply knowledge he gained in Cambodia.

"We're making them as culinary entrepreneurs not PKL again, because they were facilitated overthere all day doing activities," he said.

Similarly SME development centers under the city government, said Ibnu Sina, fight to survive while focuses on increasing tourism visits.

"We admit, Cambodia's tourism visits very remarkable. It makes their SMEs live, we will endeavor the same way as the Indonesia's best river city," he said.

This design, said Ibnu Sina, was conveyed to the Government of Cambodia, when he met the Minister of Labour and Vocational, as well as two governors in the country.

"The bottom line of cooperation we build related to tourism, education, and labor. Their interest to Banjarmasin was outstanding. They are curious to come to Banjarmasin," said Ibn Sina.
