Swarangan Port Expected to be Continued Soon

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 31/12 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Member of Commission III of South Kalimantan DPRD who oversees development and infrastructure Misri Syarkawie expected the central government to immediately follow-up Swarangan Port development in Tanah Laut.

"Unfortunately if Swarangan Port development plan to be the ocean port is fail, while tens of billions fund has already been spent," he said when answering AntaranewsKalsel here on Saturday.

He stated that he and other members of Commission III which is also in charge of transportation will continue to monitor development of Swarangan that is integrates with the Java Sea (Sea of Indonesia).

He estimates unsmoothy implementation of Swarangan Port development (about 140 kilometers east of Banjarmasin) is probably due to lack of coordination in early planning.

He admitted to not knowing the exact cause of its development stalled for years. "But temporary information the cause of the cessation of the construction due to land acquisition problems are protracted," he said.
