Residents Prevent PT Conch's Cement Trucks

Balangan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Residents of Balangan, South Kalimantan, increasingly troubled by reckless acts of PT Conch truck drivers who crossing Jalan A Yani and caused many casualties.

Thursday (22/12) at around 00.00 pm, a group of citizens conducted blocking action against the company's truck whose drivers deliberately take the right lane of road at high speed in A Yani Km 2. Truck almost hit a passing motorist.

A local, Setya said, the behavior of the Conch's truck drivers is often cases, both day and night.

"We can understand, if the state of the road on left of roadblock is damaged or can not be crossed, but the fact left and right road fulled with trucks transporting cement at high speed," he explained.

Syahrani alias Aran,  Paringin resident who had just had an accident at A Yani Km 10, Wednesday (21/12) for avoiding potholes and reckless truck drivers acts, asked no more victim.

"We've got a lot of victims of a single accident because of potholes or a collision that resulted in death, not to mention Een, the owner of East Paringin phone service , who is blind because of a single accident a month ago," he reminded.

Actually, people do not prohibit the transport of cement, said Aran, but the excess tonnage does not match the quality of roads in Balangan. Any repairs and patchy even lasted up to 24 hours, is back severely damaged.

"We hope that PT Conch lowered freight tonnage until the road completely repaired and the quality of roads is increased to match the density of heavy tonnage trucks with up to 50 tons," he hoped.
