Banjarbaru Annihilates Rp1.4 Billion Worth Ecstasy

Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarbaru police Annihilate 1,888 high quality ecstasy pills worth about Rp1.4 billion and hundreds bottles of liquor.

Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Eko Wahyuniawan here on Thursday said the drugs were evidence of findings in 2014. "The destruction is done now, because we are working hard to find who the owner is," he said after the culling of ecstasy using blender.

The police had asked for a decree from the court and the prosecutor as a legal basis for extermination of thousands of the drug in form of capsule.

Police chief, who was accompanied by Head of Drugs Detectice AKP Sumardi, said the ecstasy are destroyed because of the high quality content of amphetamine which has a high dose.

"The quality is high and the price per pill is estimated at Rp750 thousand, so the destroyed drugs all worthRp1.4 billion," said Sumardi.

According to the chief police, the thousands capsule-shaped drugs with yellow and transparent color was confirmed ecstasy, as theyt had been lab tested and tested with a special liquid.

The extermination, he said, as a commitment to prevent and combat drug trafficking with axpectation to diminishing the case.

"Namun, pemberantasan bukan hanya tugas kepolisian, karena masyakarat juga sangat berperan mencegah peredaran narkoba terutama dari lingkungan intern keluarga," kata dia.

"However, eradication is not only the task of police. The society has also a very important role to prevent drug trafficking, especially in the family's internal environment," he said.

Meanwhile, destruction hundreds bottles of liquor carried out in the courtyard of Banjarbaru police headquarters using roller car and witnessed by chief state prosecutor and representatives of narcotics agency (BNN) and courts.

"Liquor destroyed as many as 962 bottles and 144 bottles of alcohol which found without the owners during the period of 2015 and 2016," he said.
