The South Kalimantan Public works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) Agency has socialized land planning on South-East Kalimantan border in Lano Village, Jaro Sub-district, Tabalong, to build green open space.

Head of the Agency's Technical Development for Water and Building Settlement Irwan Yunizar said that the agency is planning to reorganize the border area to be neatly arranged as IKN (the new capital city) gateway.

"We want the border area to be more organized and attract visitors with green open space," he said in Tanjung, Thursday (May 30, 2024).

Even though it is reorganized, the construction of green open space at the border still provide space for local residents to sell merchandise by preparing a special area for traders.

To prepare the space, PUPR Agency will coordinate with Pertamina considering that in the border area there is an oil and gas pipeline route to East Kalimantan.

"We need to coordinate with Pertamina related to the border area land planning, because there is an oil and gas pipeline at the activity location," he added.

Irwan said that the construction of green open space or structuring of border area to be completed in August 2024.

Head of the Tabalong Financial and Regional Assets (BPKAD) Husin Ansari said that the plan to reorganize the border area is supportive in realizing Tabalong as an IKN buffer area.

"This is a form of support from the provincial government in realizing Tabalong as the veranda of South Kalimantan and a buffer of IKN," said Husin.
