Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Fires at Jalan Pangeran Samudera Gang Penatu RT06, Central Banjarmasin, burned dozens of homes owned by local residents.
The fires occurred on Tuesday afternoon at around 14:20 pm. Tens of firefighter brigades flocked to the site. It was not until 30 minutes the fire was controlled.
From the data obtained at the scene until the fire extinguished there were no casualties found in the incident.
Road congestion had occurred at Jalan Pangeran Samudera, because this is the main road in the city center which is known by the nickname of a thousand river city.
Still based on the data in the field, houses were burned are all expected to amount to 14 homes.
Homeowners who are victims of the fire were Mardina, Alfisah, Giran, Katimah Hj, Hj Enah, Sa`diah, Bob, Dita, Riduan, Syarwani, Haidar, Badru, H Fauji and Maya.
Meanwhile Central Banjarmasin Sector Police chief Commissioner Uskiansyah said police are conducting an investigation to find out what happened to cause a fire.
"The scene of the fire which destroyed a dozen homes were already in police line in the interests of investigation," he said.
