The 120th TNI Integrated Village Development (TMMD) Task Force of the 1001/HSU-BLG District Military Command (Kodim), South Kalimantan, is building a drilled well as well as four units of water channel in a dry area of Sungai Karias Village, Amuntai Tengah Sub-district.

“The construction of drilled well and water channels are very important for the residents of Sungai Karias Village, considering that they have had difficulty getting clean water suitable for consumption,” said Commander of 1001/HSU-BLG District Military Command (Kodim) Lt. Col. Cav. Gunantyo Ady Wiryawan in Amuntai, North Hulu Sungai, Friday.

Curently the TMMD task Force is still carrying out various stages with the hope the progress will run smoothly with no obstacles, so that the surrounding community can immediately enjoying the clean water facilities.

“This is an effort to help and overcome difficulties experienced by villagers, as is te aim of implementing TMMD, namely improving people's welfare,” said Lt. Col. Gunantyo.

He hopes the assistance provided to residents of Sungai Karias Village will be useful and have a health impact so that they are not completely dependent on river water for thei daily needs.

One of the village residents, Andi, said that so far the villagers have had difficulties to obtain clean water. They can only use river water, which is quite murky and they don't know much about water health.

He conveyed thanks from residents of Sungai Karias village. The building of drilled well was very meaningful for the local community because it will be easier to get clean water.
