PT PLN Main Distribution Unit (UID) for South and Central Kalimantan recorded an increase in electricity consumption during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijriah by up to eight percent.
 
During the electricity alert period on religious holidays, PT PLN had successfully maintaining the reliability of electricity in the work area of South Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan with excellent services for the community.

General Manager of PLN for South-Central Kalimantan Muhammad Joharifin in a written statement in Banjarbaru, Wednesday, said the increase in electricity consumption occurred in two neighboring provinces. Especially on the night of Eid the peak load was recorded at 609.22 Mega Watt (MW) with a power capacity of 964.4 MW. 
 
"Alhamdulillah, we are grateful that this year's Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr alert moments were able to pass smoothly without any significant obstacles. We are grateful to 1,954 personnel who are always on standby during that period," said Joharifin.

In addition to maintaining reliability of electric supply, PLN also prioritizes services of public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLUs) which are spread in 12 locations in South Kalimantan and Cetral Kalimantan.
 
During the standby period, 190 SPKLU transactions were recorded, up to 1,900 percent compared to last year.
 
"We are very pleased to see the increase in transactions use of SPKLUs, because people are increasingly aware of the convenience and efficiency of using electric vehicles," he said.
 
Joharifin emphasized that maintaing the reliability of electricity and providing excellent services by PLN is not only carried out on certain times, but continues to be conducted all the time for the convenience of customers in doing all activities.
 
PLN's success in maintaing the reliability of electricity during Eid season was also suported  by breakthrough innovation in the form of digitalizing customer service through PLN Mobile application.
 
Every time a disturbance occurs or there is a need related to electricity services, customers can immediately report it via PLN Mobile. PLN officers will immediately follow up.
