Banjarbaru, (Antaranews Kalimantan) - The project head of Syamsudin Noor Airport expansion Taochid Purnomo said the implementation of construction will begin in December 2016.
"We are optimistic the physical construction can begin in early December. It still in bidding process is expected in end of November we have the winner," he said in Banjarbaru Thursday.
He said the auction process of phase II package development of the airport, followed by six companies, have entered the final stage, the stage of price evaluation.
He explained that the directors of PT Angkasa Pura I still evaluating the price offered by six participants of the auction -- five are state owned enterprises and one participant from private contractor.
"If the board of directors has approved the price and the auction winner set at the end of November, then the implementation of physical work package II can be started early in December 2016," he said.
He said the value of the package II project, which was implemented earlier than the first package, amounting to Rp900 billion, includes infrastructure work, support buildings and apron or aircraft parking.
"Project II package is done first, because the package I failed auction due to the rising value of the US dollar exchange rate, so the price of the material to be recalculated," he said.
According to him, the implementation of package II is expected to take 18 months. Meanwhile, the package I, which includes construction of terminal and its facilities, will be auctioned.
"The package I auction is expected to start early in January 2017 with a project value of Rp1 trillion. It is our hope the auction runs smoothly, so that construction could begin," he said anyway.
According to him, the airport development project planned since 2011 is not expected to be further constrained, especially related to the release of land which is still unfinished.
"The information is the remaining land to be executed at the end of November in conjunction with the start of construction, so there is no longer a constraint," he said.
