The Central Hulu Sungai chapter of the National Handicraft Council (Dekranasda HST), South Kalimantan, introduced marble products at the International Handycraft Trade Fair (Inacraft) 2024 in Jakarta.
“We display one of the potential of Central Hulu Sungai which is slightly different from other regions, marble craft,” said HST Regent Aulia Oktafiandi when confirmed here, Thursday.
The Regent, who attended the opening ceremony of the largest crafts exhibition in ASEAN (Inacraft) on Wednesday (February 28), said that the event was a momentum to promote the regional crafts on international stage to fully support the local craft industry.
“This marble craft is made by local craftsmen from Batang Alai Timur. We introduce it to visitors that this craft uses purely local material from nature,” he said.
Aulia told that Inacraft 2024 visitors, especially foreign visitors, were interested and glanced at marble crafts from Central Hulu Sungai.

In addition, Dekranasda HST also introduced ecobrick chair and table crafts, knickknicks from patchwork, ecoprint bags, bags made from water hyacinth, bracelets, decorative hanger, sasirangan fans, sasirangan scarves, sasirangan prayer mats.
The, embroidered pillows, totebags, sasirangan pouch and sashes, sasirangan notebook, bamboo bags, orchid made from stoking and acrylic, natural dyed and chemical gyed sasirangan fabric, and sasirangan headscarves.
The biggest trade fair in ASEAN was also attended by Chairwoman of Dekranasda HST Cheri Bayuni Budjang and Deputy Chairwoman Fauziah Hasby, accompanied by a number of heads of government agencies of Central Hulu Sungai.
“The regional government fully support quality improvement of local crafts from Central Hulu Sungai, of course we hope that the level of local craftsmen will increase,” he said.
Inacraft 2024 which opened on Wednesday will run until March 3, 2024 featuring various craft products from various regions in Indonesia.
