Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - A research team from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisip) University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) Banjarmasin conducts studies on the feasibility of splitting the sub-district of Tanjung, Tabalong, South Kalimantan.


"From our analysis of a number of respondents in 11 villages and four urban villages as many as 81.30 percent in favor of the Tanjung Sub-district proliferation (pemekaran) plan," said one member of the research team Heriyanto in Tanjung, Monday.

Technical studies related to public perception, said Heriyanto, implemented in 2015 with respondents 10 people of each village and urban village and in fact a number of villages distance far from the sub-district office.

"There are some villages located more than four kilometers from the sub-district office, so that services become less quickly. Therefore, the proliferation could improve services for the community," added Heriyanto when presenting in front of the Regent Anang Syakhfiani and a number of officials in the local government of Tabalong.

He also confirmed the team just look at the feasibility of each village to be formed as a sub-district by taking into account the economic, social, cultural, education, and infrastructure.

The sub-district of Tanjung has a number of villages that could be formed as a new subdistricts, namely Kambitin, Wayau, Garunggung, and Kitang.

Furthermore, the research team will continue the technical study for the prospective new sub-districts and other sub-districts whose village made part of the expansion.

Meanwhile, Head of Tabalong Development Planning Board (Bappeda) Erwan said the expose of Tanjung Sub-district proliferation plan aims to get a comprehensive and thorough input from all stakeholders.

"We also want to know the aspirations of the public directly to the Tanjung sub-district proliferation plan," said Erwan.

The expose to the expansion plan attended by the heads of villages, sub-district military commander (Danramil), heads of urban villages, heads of sub-districts, Tabalong police chief and the commander of district military 1008/Tanjung.
