Banjarmasin City Government has prepared 39 activities as the 2024 Travel Events Calender to attract tourist arrivals throughout the year.
Mayor H Ibnu Sina said that the city keeps bolstering tourism sector, including by organizing various activities to attract as many as domestic and foreign visitors.
"We are preparing 39 events, including national scale events such as Kemilau Banjarmasin Bungas and Banjarmasin Sasirangan Festival (BSF)," he said here, Monday.
"These two events showcase a variety of cultures and arts in the City of Thousand Rivers (Banjarmasin's nickname) certainly interisting to watch," he pointed out.

Apart from activities with cultural nuances and wisdom of river tourism of the city, Mayor said, there are also other events indirectly increasing touris visits.
For instance, Banjarmasin City will host World Cancer Day commemoration and to be venue for the Indonesian Heritage Cities Network (JKPI) national working meeting.
"Banjarmasin is a member of Heritage Cities, of course many guests will come. We hope to be good host and successful, considering almost 70 cities in Indonesia are members of the Heritage Cities," he said.
All of the activities in the 2024 Travel Events Calender, Ibnu Sina said, aims to enliven the city and drive the economy to surge, especially in tourist destination areas.
"Insya Allah (God Willing) the City of Banjarmasin will improve and this is our last year, so we hope we can present what we have done during the two period to all the people of Banjarmasin City and those who visit Banjarmasin," he said.
