Person in charge of the Tanah Laut Health Office Disease Control and Prevention Program Hadiansyah said that two residents died of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DBD), while all sub-district had dengue endemic status.
"In January 2024, two Tanah Laut residents died due to dengue fever," said Hadiansyah in Pelaihari, Monday.
He informed that the case of dengue fever continue to spike in Tanah Laut. From the daily recap results, the number of dengue cases in December 2023 reached 80, then increased to 148 cases in January 2024.

"Dengue cases are increasing in Tanah Laut, but have not yet entered the status of extraordinary (KLB)," Hadiansyah said.
What is happening, he said, beause of the five-year cycle plus long dry and rainy season.
He said that all sub-district in Tanah Laut have dengue endemic status, because cases were found in every sub-district.
"DHF cases are complex problems. So it is not only the responsibility of health people, but also collaboration across sectors," he said.
"We also urge residents to to keep their homes and surroundings clean," Hadiansyah said.
