The District Government of Tanah Laut, South Kalimantan, has maintained its Universal Health Coverage (UHC) achievement for 2024 or for the fourth time after it signed an agreement with the BPJS Kesehatan Banjarmasin.
The National Healthcare and Social Security Agency (BPJS) Health (BPJS Kesehatan) in Banjarmasin, informed in a written statement on Thursday (Dec 28, 2023) that both parties agreed to continue the agreement to ascertain UHC achievement for 2024.
Acting Regent of Tanah Laut Syamsir Rahman said that the regional government is trying to provide easy access to health services for the community.
This, according to Syamsir, a form of the government's concern that people can continue to enjoy health service equality and as a form of the government's responsibility to guarantee people's basic need in health.
“Tanah Laut District has achieved UHC since 2021, and of course we want to maintain the achievement,” he said.
