Suka Ramah Village, Panyipatan sub-district, Tanah Laut District, South Kalimantan Province, has been designated as a village with a characteristic of horticultural village because it is known as a supplier of horticulture products 


"Every day it supplies horticulture products, such as sweet corn and various vegetables to Pelaihari, Palangkaraya, Sungai Danau, Kotabaru, even to reach East Kalimantan," said Head of Suka Ramah Village Siti Khoiriyah here, Friday.

In fact, she said, buyers from East Kalimantan preferred to come directly to Suka Ramah so they can get the first price. 

"Actually, they are closer to Sungai Danau, but they say prices are higher in Sungai Danau," continued Siti Khoiriyah, when explaining the village profile at the expose of  the horticultural village in the agricultural area of Suka Ramah Village.

Tanah Laut Administration's Expert Staff for Economic Development and Finance Gatot Subagio said that the fact its marketing reaching outside South Kalimantan is actually a promising potential for the villagers, especially vegetable business.

"It is hoped that the village government to go on to synergize with relevant government agencies as their fosters in developing the potential, including about derivative products and marketing, to further increase the village community's income," he said.

After the expose, the activity was continued with inspection to several areas of local residents' agricultural land.
