The District Government of Tanah Bumbu, South Kalimantan Province, has received fiscal incentive fund from Vice President of Indonesia Ma’ruf Amin amounting to Rp18,6 billion.


"The fiscal incentive fund (is awarded for) alleviating extreme poverty in Bumi Bersujud (nickname of Tanah Bumbu) in 2023 period," said Regent of Tanah Bumbu HM Zairullah Azhar in Batulicin, Saturday.

The fund, he expounded, is divided into three category, namely for the performance of reducing exteme poverty Rp6.9 billion, reducing stunting Rp5.7 billion, and for regional spending acceleration Rp5.9 million.

The Regent exressed his gratitude for all parties who worked hard to making the rate of poverty reducing in Tanah Bumbu.

"This is a gift from Allah Subhanahu WaTaala then the hard work of all parties. Thanks to the efforts and prayers that we pray every day," said the Regent.

Efforts that have been made by the district government to alleviate poverty is by providing job skills training for community based on data of extreme poverty, which is the main priority.

Providing social assistance to orphans, the elderly, and people in need of food assistance. As well as increasing independence for people with social welfare problems.

The district also renovated unhabitable houses, providing daily needs and health for people in extreme poverty category.

Efforts to increase community income by forming joint business groups (KUBE) by providing business capital.

Providing cattle to livestock groups, fishery facilities for fisheries groups, and other efforts to reduce the rate of extreme poverty.

VP KH Ma’ruf Amin conveyed three directions regarding efforts to accelerate eradication of extreme poverty.

First, local government must maximize the fiscal incentive fund for activities that benefits directly received by the community.

The fund targets recipients of extreme poverty for the right target of interventions.

Intensifying synergy and collaboration between ministries/institutions and regional government, universities, business, and industry in potential sectors.
