Banjarbaru, (Antaranews Kalimantan) - Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) supported the Banjarbaru Mayor Nadjmi Adhani closed three prostitution localizations.


"We are very supportive, because it is in line with Kemensos program," said Director of Social and Non-Social Rehabilitation and Trafficking Victims of Ministry of Social Sonny W Manalu in Banjarbaru, Thursday.

He said that in the coordination meeting and dissemination of closure of the localization which was attended by members FKPD, religious and community leaders, community organizations and local government employees.

Three localization in Banjarbaru that will close are the Pembatuan Dalam and Batu Besi at Jalan Ahmad Yani Km 28, and ex localization Pal 18 in the Sub-district Liang Anggang, Banjarbaru.

The steps taken by the mayor considered extraordinary, let alone the concept is not evict occupants of localization and those who live in the vicinity.

"The concept is good, protect all former sex workers and make the surrounding area a better and organized so that people's lives better," he said.

According to him, on the social side, the former commercial sex workers are not harmed even redirected back to the right path and do not rely on the immoral work.

"Kemensos support the move and ready with cash assistance amounting to Rp5.050.000 to every former sex workers to open a business and living costs," he said.

Mayor Banjarbaru Nadjmi Adhani said the region will be the center of the former localization muspika good office sub-district office, police station and the office sector koramil.

"We will also build a market on the former localization so that local residents could earn a living, including former sex worker can open a business there," he said.

He said the move to close the localization is a commitment at the same time political promises that accompanied with the concept of managing the area to become better and advanced from all sides.
