Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The South and Central Kalimantan electricity network of PLTU Asam-asam will be interconnected with the electrical grid in Pulaulaut (Sea Island), Kotabaru, in 2017.


Kotabaru Vice Regent Burhanuddin here on Monday said after the local authorities coordinated with PT PLN it can be ascertained that began in 2017 Asam-asam networks will be interconnected with PulauLaut.

"The network to distribute the power going through the seabed towards Pulaulaut, Kotabaru," Vice Regent said.

He hoped with electric interconection, then the demand for electricity in Kotabaru will be fulfilled.

"When we are connected, then the diesel engine plants in substations that have been producing electricity to supply power in the Pulaulaut will be sent to the islands those have not been getting electricity from PLN," said Burhanuddin.

Looking ahead, continued the vice-regent, no more outposts are not getting electricity.

Kotabaru District consists of 21 sub-districts and 202 villages spread around 140 islands. Of the 202 villages not all get electricity from PLN, so the government is trying hard to ensure that all villages have electricity from the state electricity company.
