Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the South Kalimantan Education Agency Ngadimun stating SMA Banua Bilingual Boarding School here remain its operation.


He was speaking in a working meeting with Commission IV on public welfare South Kalimantan Legislative Council (DPRD) here on Thursday as Turkish government demanded nine bilingual boarding schools in Indonesia to be closed for their cooperation with PASIAD.

He clarified SMA BANUA Bilingual Boarding School is no longer cooperate with the Pacific Countries Social and Economic Solidarity Association (PASIAD) Turkey, but it formed a partnership with Amity College Australia.

"So there is no reason or authority of the Turkish government requesting the SMA Banua which is owned by the provincial government to be closed," he said accompanied by the Principal of the SMA Banua H Zainuddin.

"Even the provincial government continues strive to improve and develop SMA Banua to be more forward as a reference for senior high school of all districts and cities here," he added.

Ngadimun insisted that society in general, especially those who want to enrol to SMA Banua whose campus at Jalan A Yani Km17,5 Gambut Subdistrict, Banjar Regency, no need to hesitate and worry.

Chairman of Commission IV Yazidie Fauzi S.Kom appreciated the Education Agency for maintaining SMA Banua that stood since 2012.

"Indeed, we do not have to comply with the request of the government of Turkey, especially we do not have anything to do anymore with PASAID," said the former Chairman of the South Kalimantan National Committee of Indonesian Youth (KNPI).
