The Balangan District Government displayed a number of its MSMEs' typical products at the Floating Market Cultural Festival held in the City of Banjarmasin.
Head of Promotion of the Balangan Youth, Sports, and Tourism Office Tri Joko here on Tuesday said that this event is an opportunity for Balangan to introduce some of it typical products as well as its touris destinations.
“Kami mengenalkan sejumlah produk unggulan UMKM, yaitu olahan dari labu seperti keripik dan pais waluh, juga olahan dari kulit buah cempedak yaitu mandai dan minuman sirup khas Batumandi (Sirbam),” kata Tri Joko.
One of visitors of Balangan booth, Salbiyah, said she was very interested in one of Balangan's MSME typical product, Batumandi syrup.
She said, whenever there was a cultural activity like this, she always looked for and visited Balangan booth to buy the product.
Banjarmasin Mayor Ibnu Sina also visited Balangan booth and tasting processed products such as pais and pumpkin chips, as well as Balangan's signiture crispy mandai.
When opening the 2023 Floating Market Cultural Festival, Regional Secretary of South Kalimantan Roy Rizali Anwar revealed that at this year's festival the provincial government deliberately invited guests from abroad.
“Our guests come from Romania, South Korea, Turkey and Taiwan to promote the tourism and cultural potential that exist in our region,” he said.
Roy said the presence of delegation from four friendly countries was the governor's wish, so that potential of tourism in South Kalimantan could penetrate international markets.
