Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of the South Kalimantan Education Agency Ngadimun said the agency is now focusing on developing the inclusive education program in all schools in the province.

According to Ngadimun, the program is as government efforts to provide proper educational opportunities for children with special needs.

"We want children with special needs are also getting a proper education as other children, so that the inclusive education program is very important to be developed in each school," he said in Banjarmasin, Saturday.

During this time, he added, special schools in all districts and cities have not been able to accommodate all children with special needs. The number of the schools is limited, and usually only available in the city.

Inclusive program provides opportunities for children with special needs to study in public schools. Thus it would be able to accommodate all special needs children to school, even though located in remote areas.

One of the efforts to implement the program, he said, the provincial government provides scholarships to teachers who want to take a lecture specifically in studying of inclusion.

In addition, for schools that want to organize the program, the Education Agency will also provide assistance of various tools required.

According to Ngadimun, the provincial government has also built free autism school, which is equipped with a therapy clinic, especially for children from poor families.

Hopefully, with the autism school, the parents are willing to send their children while following the autism therapy regularly, until finally the children can be independent.

In addition to inclusion school, said Ngadimun, it also continues to encourage the growth of early childhood education, which participation is now still below 68 percent.
