Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Suspected murderer in Jalan PM Noor, West Banjarmasin, Supian aka Yupi (40) was arrested in Muara Teweh, Central Kalimantan.


"Yupi we caught thanks to information and results of investigations conducted by members (cops) in the field," said West Banjarmasin Sector Police Chief AKP Dese Yulianti here on Saturday.

He said the arrest of Yupi, a former convict of Nusa Kambangan Prison, was carried out by a joint team of Banjarmasin City Police and West Banjarmasin Sector Police.

Yupi was arrested on Friday (22/7) morning at Muara Teweh for allegedly killing Wahyuddin (37), resident of Gang Nurudin Jalan PM Noor on Saturday (11/6).

"Motive for the killing was the suspect offended by being yelled `perempuan` (woman) by the victim," said the former head of the Banjar Resort Traffic Police Unit.

According to AKP Dese the perpetrator had been shot for trying to escape and fight the officer while trying to be arrested.

Yupi was known as nimble enough to evade the police and always moving from hiding. When caught he worked as a parker in the town of Muara Teweh.
