Surabaya, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The state port operator PT Pelindo III again hold mudik (homecoming) for free for ships passengers, after last year successfully organized similar activities entitled "Let's Go Home! - Homecoming Free with Pelindo III ".


Edi Priyanto, Head of Public Relations of Pelindo III, revealing no less than five thousand people will be escorted directly by Pelindo III for homecoming to their hometown. "About 5,600 ship passengers from Kalimantan and Sulawesi will be escorted out of the port to several destinations on the island of Java," said Edi.

Travelers who originated from Kalimantan in between through the port of Kumai, Sampit, Banjarmasin, Pontianak and Balikpapan. Meanwhile, from Sulawesi through the Port of Makassar.

Pelindo III will provide a free bus at two locations, namely Port of Tanjung Perak, Surabaya, and the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang. The free bus is available for seven days in a row since the D-7 to D-1 before Idul Fitri 1437 H or from June 28 to July 5, 2016.

For departures from Tanjung Perak, 10 buses to be provided everyday to serve for four routes to several cities in East Java, namely Pasuruan-Probolinggo-Lumajang-Jember, Mojokerto and Jombang-Ngajuk-Madiun, Kediri-Tulungagung-Trenggalek, Lamongan-Bojonegoro -Cepu.

Then, at the Port of Tanjung Emas, 6 buses provided with cities route in Central Java, namely Demak-Kudus-Pati, Temanggung-Wonosobo, Solo, Yogyakarta, and the northern coastal route (Pantura) towards Kendal-Pekalongan-Pemalang.

"Travelers can enroll immediately upon arriving at the port of arrival at the service counter free trip by showing tickets and identity card," said Edi.

The program which initiated by Pelindo III is holding another state company, namely PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni) as the operator of passenger ships and Perum Damri to provide a fleet of buses.

Several passenger ships Pelni that passengers off at the Port of Tanjung Perak in between Tidar and Gunung Dempo, while from Makasar will be Kelimutu and from Port Kumai is Labobar ship and Nggapulu from Balikpapan and Bukit Raya ship from the Port of Pontianak.

While the ships to the Port of Tanjung Emas is Binaiya from the Port of Sampit, Egon and Kelimutu from the Port of Kumai, Egon from Banjarmasin and Vessel Lawit from the Port of Pontianak.

The number of bus seats and luggage are provided for the free trip are limited. A total of 10 buses provided at the Port of Tanjung Perak can transport at least 480 people for each ship. For travelers in Port of Tanjung Emas in Semarang provided 6 buses for 288 travelers.

"Homecoming (Mudik) Program with Pelindo III is to facilitate the passengers of ships which then continue the journey by land transport modes to safely reach the destination," said Edi Priyanto.
