Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Citizens flocked to buy imported cheap meat sold by the Banjarbaru Industry and Trade Agency (Disperindag) in Ramadan bazaar.

"The meat is supplied by the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) and sold cheaply Rp80 thousand per kilogram, sold out quickly as people flocked to buy," said Head of Banjarbaru Industry and Trade Agency Rahmah Khairita, Monday.

Her agency had asked Bulog to prepare 1,000 kilograms of frozen meat along Ramadan bazaar to meet the needs of the community. Ramadan bazaar held for six days in the yard of Disperindag Banjarbaru.

"The price is much cheaper than the price of fresh meat Rp135 thousand per kilogram, so we ask (Bulog) to supply a ton," she said.

According to her, other than frozen beef, Bulog also sell cheap rice from Thailand at a price of Rp39.500 per bag weighing 5 kilograms or Rp7.900 per kilogram.

"Cheap rice also raided by hundreds of residents and to be brought in as much as 5 tons to meet local needs for rice which is quite high," she said.

In addition to Bulog, Disperindag also in cooperation with the Indonesian Trading Company providing two commodities, namely sugar and eggs.

"Sugar is highly sought after by residents and when the bazaar open, people directly flocked because of the price per kilogram only Rp12.500 compared to Rp16.500 in the market," he said.

Head of Commercial Division of Bulog South Kalimantan Rahmadi said, the number of frozen meat sold the first day of the bazaar in Banjarbaru as much as 150 kilograms.
