Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Governor Office building at Jalan Sudirman, Banjarmasin, is planned to be ruined down to be utilised as a green open space (RTH).

Head of Provincial Government Public Relations Heriansyah while in PWI office on Tuesday acknowledged that the old governor's office area will be transformed into a green open space for the community.

"Certainly, because it would be turned into green open space, then the buildings on it to be dismantled later," he said.

According to the former North Banjarmasin Sub-district head, because of the capital still lack in green open space, then the provincial government established a policy to make the governor's old office area as solution.

But related to Banjarmasin City Government application on the grant of old governor office, according to Heriansyah, the administration had rejected it.

It is not that easy to do displacement of government's assets, although with fellow government agencies. It must go through a long process and approved by the legislature. "Isn't the approval have to go through a plenary session of legiclative council," he said.

Therefore, he argued, Banjarmasin municipal government should build its own offices to meet the shortage of office and not merely waiting for the "heritage" buildings belonging to the provincial government.

"We sure it can, still a lot of vacant land, for example in the area of ??South and North Banjarmasin," he said.

Heriansyah ensure no political sentiments with the refusal of grant application, because it really through the study. "None of it (political overtones). This is indeed a long time planning for the assets held by the provincial government to be used properly," said Heriansyah.
