Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, prepares to be the entrance to the ASEAN region at the same time determined to become a tourist destination.


Vice Regent Burhanuddin said this at the preparation of contingency plans document of Public Health Emergency Of International Concern (PHEIC) in Kotabaru Tuesday.

"We will make Kotabaru as a travel destination in the ASEAN countries, and an influx of investment from foreign countries, so that health care is a necessity," he said.

Burhanudian asserted, Kotabaru must be ready to address the problems of health emergencies, in accordance with international standards.

As good as any and for any appeal of Kotabaru, if it does not have a contingency plan documents of PHEIC, then other countries will reluctant to come to Kotabaru.

Like Singapore, if it does not have documents to anticipateemergency issue will not be considered by the countries in the world.

Therefore, the local government appreciates document drafting contingency plans for tackling public health emergency events that unsettling world (PHEIC) at the port of Kotabaru.

Chief of Port Health Office (KKP) Class II Banjarmasin H Sabilal Rosyad said Kotabaru sea port is one of the point of entry into Indonesia in South Kalimantan .

It has a strategic value in supporting the national economy, but instead also have a high risk to the threat of the spread of diseases to cause potentially emegency to a global public health.
