Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Workers rally in commemoration of Labor Day on Sunday May 1 or "Mayday" did not occur in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan.


"Throughout this Sunday there was no demonstration of workers. Circumstances in Banjarbaru secure," said Chief of Intelkam (Security intelligence) Unit Police AKP Sri Mining here on Sunday.

She said, labor rally in Banjarbaru ascertained did not occur, so the situation of social order in the community is maintained.

She explained that if workers or others want to carry out activities pursued by many people then must notify to the police, so they can get the escort.

"We have not received any notification of the demo, either on Sunday or Monday (2/5), so that there can be no labors or workers demo," she said.

She mentioned large companies in Banjarbaru such as PT Angkasa Pura I Syamsudin Noor, PT PLN Kalselteng and Sinar Mas give day off to their workers in addition to the day coincides with Sunday.

According to her, even though there was no demonstration of workers, but all members of the Banjarbaru City Police remain on standby either in Banjarbaru Police headquarters (Mapolres) or in five sector police stations in town.
