Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - The investigation into the Kalstar plane at Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin is waiting for National Commission for Transportation Safety (KNKT).


"We are still waiting for KNKT team to investigate," said General Manager of airport operator company PT Angkasa Pura I Syamsudin Noor Airport Handy Heryudhitiawan in Banjarbaru, Sunday.

He said the Kalstar left engine burning directly reported to KNKT after the incident, because of the Friday (15/4) afternoon incident was threatening.

KNKT team is expected to come to investigate after receiving a report of the incident.

"We have reported the incident, but do not know yet when the team come to the field. We are waiting for them to come," he said.

According to him, the ATR 72 series 500 Kalstar are still placed on the apron 8 east end of the runway and the burning left engine has left untouched.

While the right engine was brought to it manufacture to be checked and repaired. When the incident in the air, the left engine shut down and the right engine worked alone.

Kalstar took-off from Banjarmasin to fly for Kotabaru on Friday at 11:54 pm. Only four minutes later, the propelled plane had left engine trouble and emited sparks in the air.

The incident was reported by the pilot to the control tower and the pilot requested to return to the runway with the status of emergency landing.
