Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Electrical systems of South and Central Kalimantan finally recovered, and the rolling blackouts that lasted one month in two provinces come to an end.

Transmission and Distribution Division Manager of PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan Hery Santoso in Banjarbaru on Wednesday said that electricity supply is back to normal since Sunday (3/4).

"Maintenance of Asam-Asam power plant units 3 and Excess Power MSW power plant are completed, so that the plants can supply electricity and no blackouts since Monday," he said.

He said the rotating power outage was perforcely conducted for the maintenance of the two plants causing loss of power almost 100 Mega Watt.

"The entry of the two plants makes PLN no longer a deficit, so no more rotating blackouts. If there is any area experienced blackout, it's because of network disruption," he said.

According to Hery, who was accompanied by the Power Sector Manager Idaman Lingga, the inclusion of two power supplies through the plants makes electrical system had a surplus.

However, the surplus is not large as it only amounted to 52.7 MW during the day and at night only 13.2 MW of electricity due to the large consumption.

"The power of the entire plant reach 498 MW and daytime peak load reached 445 MW and 485 MW in evenings, so the surplus is relatively small," he said.

The surplus power will increase if the diesel engine from Riau installed and operated to contribute 20 MW of electrical power.

"The diesel engine of Riau predicted to operate in the end of April, so that it can add to a surplus of PLN electricity power capacity in addition to the diesel from Bali by 30 MW," he said.
