Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Government of of Tabalong has established monitoring points to watch Total Solar Eclipse (GMT) which will take place in March 9, including setting up a place for solar eclipse prayer.


Head of Tabalong Youth, Sport, Culture and Tourism (Disporbudpar) Zain Ramali in Tanjung Wednesday said monitoring points for the GMT respectively in Warukin Airport, Islamic Center, Aston Hotel, Pendopo Bersinar and Saraba Kawa Stadium.

"Monitor locations that we set including Airmancur and Taman Giat Tanjung and Mount Jawuk in Sub-district of Upau, while GMT prayers will be held at the A-Abrar Islamic Center," said Zain in a press conference at Aston Hotel, Tanjung.

Zain added that to see the rare GMT from Saraba Kawa Earth (nickname for Tabalong), 100 glasses provided by the Ministry of Tourism as well as providing free breakfast for the people who follow the eclipse prayers at the Islamic Center.

"The team of South Kalimantan Disporbudpar and Barito Kuala would come to Tabalong to watch the total solar eclipse," Zain said.

This very rare natural phenomenon is expected to occur at 7:24 am with a duration of 2 minutes 58 seconds and people are encouraged to face it by much of dzikir and istighfar.

"Solar eclipse salat sunna is muakkad therefore it highly recommended for Muslims, including by doing much of dzikr and istighfar," said Head of the Tabalong Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Rasyidi.

While hotels also setting up a possible increase in the number of occupancy on March 8, 2016 related to GMT in most northern district in South Kalimantan.
