Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan optimistic that the provincial government's vision to build Jakarta as a sustainable green city would attract investors to invest in various developments in the city.
Baswedan expressed his optimism as he invited foreign investors from various sectors to collaborate in developing Jakarta through the 2022 Jakarta Investment Forum (JIF) event here, Thursday.
A total of seven ambassadors from friendly countries participated in the forum that brought together investors and the government. The seven ambassadors of friendly countries came from South Korea, Singapore, Cambodia, Ireland, Spain, Bangladesh, and Qatar.
The 2022 JIF is the first investment forum to be held physically after being held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Jakarta's progress, as seen today, is not only carried out by the government. We would like to seek the participation of investors from the private sector, government partners, and global financial institutions to join us," Baswedan stated during the event.
So far, the Jakarta government has implemented sustainable programs for the city by launching low-emission transportation projects, creating green industries, and developing urban systems to support the citizens' life.
"Moreover, Jakarta is a place with big transactions. We contribute 70 percent to the Indonesian economy. The business activity here is very large," the governor added.

This year's JIF focused on discussions related to sustainable food systems, waste management through a circular economy, and public partnerships for green investment and then followed by the signing of agreements for commitments on collaboration and more specific meetings.
Seven regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) in Jakarta that are offering 15 investment projects are MRT Jakarta, TransJakarta, Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara, PT Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP), Jakarta Experience Board (JXB), and Perumda Sarana Jaya.
The 15 projects comprise the Intermediate Treatment Facility (ITF) Sunter, LRT Jakarta Phase 2A (Jakarta International Stadium-Rajawali), and LRT Jakarta Phase 3A (Jakarta International Stadium-Rajawali).
The others are MRT Phase 3 (east-west), MRT Phase 4 (Fatmawati-TMII), South Jakarta Mix-Used Development, TransJakarta Electric Bus, Battery Charging Station, Seribu Island Eco Resort and Eco Theme Park, and medical tourism for the elderly.
Furthermore, Landmark Jakarta, Tanah Abang Primary Center, Rooftop Solar Power Plant, Hazardous and Toxic Waste Installation (B3), and Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP) Masterplan Inc are the other projects.
