Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Chief of Barito Kuala Water Police Unit AKP Charles Tampubolon said a drowning victim eventually found at the bottom of the barge.


"His body was found by a joint team with the police who continue to search around the scene," he said in Barito Kuala (Batola) Saturday.

He said the drowning victim named Ahmad (20), a mooring guard, resident of Sungai Banda, Tamban village, Muara Baru RT 14 Sub-districts of Tamban, Batola.

Ahmad sank on Thursday (4/2) at around 05.00. The victim was seen before in convulsion aboard the barge until he fell into the river.

"The victim is not alone in guarding moorings. There are three friends and they've all been asked for information," he said.

Police together with the combined emergency teams continue to search for body until Friday (5/2) afternoon around 14:00 victim was found. He was in a condition already died and the body right under the barge where he fell.

"Victim was purely drowned and no signs of violence based on the testimony of witnesses who saw the victim fell into the river," he said.
