Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarmasin Police eventually release a man suspected of spreading a bomb threat through social media due to lack of evidence.


"We had to secure the man, but finally is released due to insufficient evidence for his action," said Chief of Banjarmasin Police Kombes Drs Wahyono MH here on Tuesday.

He said the man was identified as N (22), citizen of Martapura, Banjar. He was secured for allegedly spreading a bomb threat against Mapolresta Banjarmasin some time ago.

Investigators learned that the man received a bomb threat information through a social media then shared to the facebook account.

Previously a chain messages circulated widely on Saturday (16/1). The chain messages written Banjarmasin Police Headquarters will be detonated in on Saturday (16/1) at 23:00 pm.

"The police understand that he was lacks of insight, so we let him go after giving him advice dan counsel," he said.

Chief police said, N is just an ordinary young man whose only an elementary school graduation. His lack of knowledge make him shared a bomb threat to facebook account.

N (22) were repatriated on Sunday (17/1) night. When discharged from Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) of Banjarmasin Police he was joined by his family.

Until now Banjarmasin Police still looking for the perpetrator of initial disseminator of such threats.

"Still we keep track of who the first spreader that information," said the man who had served as Deputy Director of Metro Jaya Traffic Police.

Police appealed the entire community of Banjarmasin to immediately report to the nearest police when informed about a bomb threat and do not spread because it may cause public unrest.
