Head of the Tanah Laut Population Control, Family Planning, Women Empowerment and Children Protection Office (DP2KBP3A) Nor Hidayat said based on the results of the 2021 Family Data Collection (PK21) 52,000 families in the district are at risk of givng birth to babies with stunting condition.

"From the results of the PK21 we will verify and validate data related to the risk of birth of stunting babies. This is the basis for efforts to expedite the reduction of stunting rate in Tanah Laut District," said Nor Hidayat, after attending the Preparedness Ceremony for the National Mobile Family Assistance Team through zoom meeting from Pelaihari, Thursday (May 12, 2022).

The data verification and validation on families at risk of stunting, he said, is carried out by the Tanah Laut District Family Assistance Team (TPK). 

Meanwhile, Assistant for Economy Development and People's Welfare Akhmad Hairin said the district government continue to strive to reduce stunting rate from year to year. 

“The district government keeps giving it support to all sectors that involve in the team, in effort to prevent and eliminate stunting in Tanah Laut," he said representing Tanah Laut Regent HM Sukamta.

According to him, stunting mitigation is a shared duty and commitment, so that every year it has reduced.

On that occasion, Ahmad Hairin symbolically handed over form for data verification and validation to one of the member of the local TPK. 

It was marked the start of verification and validation stage for families at risk of stunting until June 30, 2022.

Also present were head of Pelaihari Sub-district, head of Bajuin Sub-district, head of Takisung Sub-district, and members of TPK of Tanah Laut District.
