As Eid al-Fitr entering the second day, Tuesday (May 3, 2022) the Syamsudin Noor International Airport has booked the higher number of pessangers' departure than the arrival.

"There are 23 arrival flights carrying 2,117 passengers and 24 departure flights with 3,468 passengers," said the airport's Stakeholder Relation Manager Ahmad Zulfian Noor in  Banjarbaru, Wednesday.

This condition, according to him, has proved that there are still Eid travelers leaving Banjarmasin airport for a number of routes to Java and Jakarta.

Apart from homecomers, Zulfian said that other passengers were expected to depart for the purpose of tour considering that there is still a long leave for employees who will return to office on Monday (May 9, 2022) next week.

Meanwhile, the backflow of passengers is predicted to begin on Friday (May 6, 2022) and to reach its peak on Saturday and Sunday weekends.

"If there are many passangers departing during Eid exodus, then the reverse flow will be dominated by arrivals," said Zulfian.

As a readiness to anticipate the surge of passengers during the reverse flow, the airport that managed by PT Angkasa Pura I has alerted a joint officers at the integrated post command which is scheduled to serve until to until May 10, 2022.

A number of airlines has previously prepared extra flights to meet the passengers demand from several route to Banjarmasin, one of which is from Juanda Airport Surabaya, which was the highest number of homecoming flow.
