Balangan, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Balangan District won Wahana Tata Nugraha (WTN) from the Directorate General of Land Transportation.
WTN given by the Government to the cities able to organize public transport well. This award is given every year.
Assessment is done on the category of metropolitan cities, big cities, medium cities and small towns.
Aspects of structuring sustainable and public interest-based transportation, and environmentally friendly, got the biggest consideration in the assessment.
The award was achieved, because Balangan considered able to make corrections in traffic support facilities orderly for the smooth running of public transport.
"Thank God, improvement of supporting traffic facilities orderly carried by Balangan District Government through the Transportation, Communication and Information Agency(Dishubkominfo) in recent times received appreciation from the central government," said Dishubkominfo head Gunawan.
However, said Gunawan, Balangan only awarded in the form of plaques, not WTN trophy.
"Our traffic supporting facilities yet complete, such as division lane, sidewalks for pedestrians and bicycles still in repair and improvement, while Tabalong who won the WTN trophy is a district that had a rapid development in the arrangement traffic supporting," he explained.
