Martapura, South Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalimantan) - Banjar a smoke-free district was not just a figment. Evidently, the local Health Agency held a declaration between citizens and the government that they will keep their neighborhood free of cigarette smoke that can harm many people.


The signing of a non-smoking area declaration was at Complex Pangeran Antasari, Martapura, Tuesday, by acting Regent H. Rachmadi Kurdi accompanied by Regional Secretary H. Nasrun Shah, District Military Commander (Dandim) 1006/Mtp Eka Ade Son, Chief of Banjar Police represented by chief of Criminal Investigation Unit, and some heads of local government work unit (SKPD) and society as the main actors.

Acting Regent said all of society should play an active role in the success of the program launched by the district government since 2013. "People should start from small things first, such as not providing ashtrays in the house," he said.

It is expected to make a guest reduce desire to smoke inside the house. It should also be familiarized in public places or places where many people gather.

Rachmadi Kurdi expects self awareness of each citizen not to smoke in places that got the smoking ban.

In line with acting Banjar Regent, Head of Health Agency Ikhwansyah expressed his big hope from this joint program to run.

He said there would be no government program can be run and managed without the help or the active role of the community in realizing it.

Citizens of Complex Pangeran Antasari (Compass) themselves are very enthusiastic in addressing a smoke-free areas launched by the government.

Compass was elected as a non-smoking complex, because of the very basic reason. It is located in the heart of Martapura, and Compass is one point of Adipura assessment. (Asp/e).
