Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin now on alert status following bomb threats to some airlines in several countries.
"Yes, the status of the airport in the city escalated to be alert," said Syamsudin Noor Intel Commander Lettu Sus Mohammad Redhagima in Banjarbaru, Tuesday.
He said the escalating in the alert status was based on the determination of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Ministry of Transportation. The alert status for Syamsudin Noor Airport is set with no limit time determined until a revocation.
"Because of the airport status as it is, then we will tighten supervision, either for goods or passengers and visitors at the airport," he said.
In addition to anticipating threats and bombing terror, it did not deny that the security tighten at the airport was also to counteract the movement of radical such as ISIS.
Surveillance and security tightened priority is to counteract all forms or acts that disrupt flight operations.
