Tabalong is beginning its village digitalization program by applying what so called as Village Service Informatin and Management System (abbreviated as SimpelDesa) in pilot villages.

Head of the Tabalong Village and Community Empowerment Agency Erwan Mardani said the pilot villages are Kasiau, Tanta, Maburai, and Warukin.

"The pilot villages have begun implementing SimpelDesa service as an effort to improve services in the village," Erwan explained here on Saturday.

SimpelDesa uses smart village concept which is an elaboration of the smart city concept.

Erwan said village digitalization not only improves public services but has a positive impact on the development of village-owned enterprises (BUMDes).

Previously, the Indonesian Association of Village Administration (Apdesi) for Tabalong and the state-owned telecommunication company Telkom signed MoU to build digital villages.

This included a copy study to the digital village of Palasari, Ciater Sub-district, Subang District, West Java.
