Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) official announced 37 hotspots detected by Aqua Terra satellite spread across the district whose nickname "Earth Saijaan".


"The 37 hotspots detected on October 8 around 06.00 based on reports from Data Center and South Kalimantan Disaster Management Agency," said Head of Kotabaru BPBDs Irian Noor through the Disaster Management Section Head Sugeng here on Thursday.

He said, hotspots are also found in eight districts in South Kalimantan at least 124.

In Banjar District found 18 hotspots, Tanah Laut 24 hotspots, Tanah Bumbu 35 hotspots, Kotabaru 37 hotspots, Barito Kuala four hotspots, Tapin four hotspots, South Hulu Sungai one hotspot and Balangan one hotspot.

In addition to hotspots, Aqua Terra satellite also detected the high waves in the south waters of South Kalimantan about 1.3 meters to 2.5 meters. Meanwhile, in the Kotabaru waters wave height detected about 2 meters - 3 meters.

The minimum horizontal visibility of 600 meters occurred in 06.00 and is forecasted to improve visibility at 09.00 (7 Kilometres).

The wind is generally from the southeast at a speed of 5-16 knots (09-30 kilometers per hour). Maximum temperature of 36.0 C and a minimum temperature of 21.0 C and humidity of 37-92 percent.

In general, weather conditions in South Kalimantan cloudy.
